An Adaptive Agent-Based Distributed Expert System for Pest Management

This paper describes the architecture of the Integrated Pest Management Expert System (IPMES) project that is being developed by the University of Otago and HortResearch. The project develops and applies new learning techniques to building intelligent systems. The overall intention of this project is to develop an adaptive decision support system for pest management based on information integration. It will be designed for use by ENZAFruit New Zealand (International) (ENZA), HortResearch, packhouses, and the growers/orchardists themselves.
